Considering the agenda problems of most of the components of ED3X gang finally, Marcel and me decided to participate in «take it easy» mode, so we participated in 20m Low Power and 10m QRP, both assisted.
So, the station setup is almost «plug and play» and lets us get some good sleep and enjoy the contest in relaxed mode.
The station runs flawlessly, with some interactions between bands (14mhz vs 28Mhz) when both stations were using the same antenna.
Due to my extra low proficiency in CW I decided to go QRP and fully assisted with a CW-Skimmer, maybe it’s not quite acceptable for the purist, but to be honest, I enjoy just trying to do my best and how to squeeze at maximum the strategic in the band.
CW-Skimer it’s a great tool because you have a personal assistant that tells you exactly what it’s happening in your location, in your station.
It was amazing when ZM1A showed up in the Band Map (Saturday Afternoon with antennas beaming Long Path to SA) when they were starting to call, I was one of the first or maybe the first station to call them and after 3-4 times I completed the QSO, so impossible for a QRP station with the «normal traffic conditions».
Marcel, EA3IN, had some family engagement and he couldn’t attend the whole contest.
To run the station in Low Power or QRP, with limited time availability, and considering the final scores it’s a sign that the station works well enough.
